This was such a fun read! I loved this volume! It starts with Tony having quit being Iron man after DIAB storyline and then we have Rhodey being Iron man and all and his struggles and trying to reconcile that and so he visits Ant-man and Shaman regarding that and some mystical stuff happens along the way while Tony teams up with Clint and Bobby to go after Dr Demonicus in his whole armor and then face off against him again and stuff is happening with Obadiah Stane as he abducts people close to Ton This was such a fun read!

Let's start by saying that Doctor Demonicus' storyline, Secret Wars II tie-in, and some artworks and dialogues aged not much well, but this volume with the conclusion of Denny O'Neil's Obadiah Stane saga is still a must read for every fan of the Golden Avenger, with all the stories building up story and characters until the explosive, five stars, ending.īesides overmentioned flaws, these are in fact the stories inspiring Jon Favreau's Iron Man (2008) movie, first of a still long running series of blockbusters and tv series that introduced whole new generations to the Golden Avenger and the other heroes from Marvel comics.īesides that, Iron Man (1968) #195 with the Iron Man II/Alpha Flight's Shaman team-up is probably my most favourite one story ever starring James Rodhes, giving insights about his past and motivations as never before, and after too.Īnd Iron Man (1968) #200, introducing for the first time the Mark VIII Silver Centurion armor, still my fan favourite one ever together with Arno Stark's 2020 one after all these years, is just one of best Iron Man tales ever, with Tony's rising up from his alcoholist past, his rebirth as an hero, and becoming Iron Man at last, fighting Stane/Iron Monger like two medieval ironclad knights dueling in a joust.įar better than I used to remember and now I just have to look for and read the whole Denny O'Neil's 1982–1986 Iron Man run. In the dossier included there was a short article about Iron Man (1968) #200 that made me in the mood of reading again this volume so, after spending something like three hours looking for my copy among my comic-books bookshelves here, I've read it again after eight years since purchasing and reading it for the first time. Purchasing the whole armor is going to take more than 2 years, to say nothing about 1200+ €, so we are going to stop here and enjoy our cheap, wonderful, helm. I've spent last afternoon with my 6 years old daughter assembling an Iron Man metal helmet (with internal light included) she purchased for just 1 € at the local newsstand.
